Tens of thousands of children in Addis Ababa are suspected to be abused, exploited, infected, and starved to death every day. There is a greater number of children who are homeless and live below the poverty line even after living with guardians. At Enerda, our mission is to prevent and eradicate child abuse, exploitation, poverty, diseases, and starvation through education while empowering the vulnerable. From offering education opportunities to working to end the cycle of poverty, Enerda strives to be the leading advocate for single mothers and children who have no sign of hope or relief.
Improving the Quality of Life for Children Who Have Experienced Hardships
Enerda, in collaboration with two local NGOs, has been providing for one of the most urgent needs in society: a healthy future for abandoned, orphaned, and other poor children. We offer a safe haven through multiple programs to children in Addis Ababa while working to expand our services hundreds more throughout the country. By providing food, shelter, medical care, clothing, financial assistance, and education, it is our hope to see these children thrive and develop into healthy adults.
